Age Concern Gosport needs YOUR help. Without funds, this small independent charity cannot continue its work helping and supporting older people in Gosport.

We don’t have cute puppies to tug at your heartstrings. We don’t find cures for horrible diseases. We don’t have relief workers overseas. What we have is a tireless team of volunteers who give up their time to help some of the most vulnerable people living right here in Gosport. That might be your mother, father, or grandparents. Or your neighbour. Or an elderly friend. One day, that might be YOU!

How Much Does it Cost to Run Age Concern Gosport?

How much money do you think it takes to provide these elderly services here in Gosport? It’s not £500,000. It’s not £100,000. It’s not even £50,000.

The cost of providing these essential services to older people here in Gosport is less than £5,000 a year!

In 2017, Age Concern Gosport helped nearly 300 elderly people in Gosport by providing information on  community services and helping them claim benefits. And that’s without the 430 people who were helped by our Big Lottery funded ‘Live Life for Today and Plan for Tomorrow!’ project.

Some 120 of Gosport’s older people were able to claim much-needed, life-changing benefits. Overall that amounted to nearly £319,000. For many older people, that’s the difference in being able to put the heating on in the cold weather and having enough food to eat.

Age Concern Gosport does all that for less than £5,000. To put it in perspective, that’s a third of the average cost of a new car. Or the average cost of a holiday abroad for a family of four. Imagine what we could do with £10,000 a year!

Donate now and help Age Concern Gosport make a difference to the older people in our community for another year.

We know money is tight in the current economic climate. If you can’t afford to make a donation, why not help Age Concern Gosport by fundraising or by buying a community lottery ticket instead.
