Services Sign-posting

One of Age Concern Gosport’s most important services is ‘sign-posting’. The charity’s team of trained, dedicated volunteers offer free information on a wide range of local services.

What Does Sign-posting Mean?

Quite simply, like a road sign, a sign-posting service points you in the right direction. When you need help and don’t know what services and resources are available, a sign-posting service can help.

Examples of Sign-posting Services

Clients come to Age Concern Gosport looking for a range of different services. For example, you might need help with cleaning or personal care. You might have a water leak but don’t know where to find a reputable plumber. Perhaps you’re feeling isolated and want information about social activities such as lunch clubs or day centres.

There are a wide range of services for older people available in Gosport. If your Age Concern volunteer  doesn’t have the answer you’re looking for, they will do everything possible to direct you to someone who can help.

It’s important to remember that while Age Concern Gosport’s services are free, many other services are not. Where possible, our volunteers will tell you of any charges up-front.

“Once I had a leaking over flow pipe and I didn’t know how to sort it out, it was worrying me but I asked for help and they arranged a plumber to fix it and I knew exactly how much it would cost.”
